Why are my cold emails not getting replies?

The most common causes, in order: deliverability (your emails are silently landing in spam), targeting (the list is not a tight ICP match), and the opener (it reads like a template anyone could have received).

Check deliverability first — authenticate SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, and test with mail-tester.com. Then tighten the ICP: 500 verified, well-matched contacts out-perform 5,000 scraped ones. Finally, audit your first sentence — if it could be sent to anyone in your market, it is not specific enough.

Also check sequence depth. Most replies come from the fourth touch or later, so a one-and-done email will under-perform regardless of how good it is.
